Thin Feel Condoms
What are thin feel condoms?
Thin Feel is a name condom brand Durex uses to denominate some of its thin condoms. Durex Thin Feel condoms are thinner than most other options from the brand. In fact, whilst most Durex condoms have a thickness of around 70 microns (0.07mm), Durex Thin Feel is 0.055mm thick.
The thinner sheath conducts heat better than a thicker condom, enhancing intimacy and allowing for more natural sensations.
Thickness aside, the Thin Feel condoms have the same standard size and shape that characterises most Durex condoms. With a nominal width of 56mm and length of 205mm, these condoms suit most men.
Thin Feel condoms should not be mistaken for Durex Real Feel. Although the name is similar, Real Feel condoms are thicker condoms made of polyisoprene. Thin Feel condoms are made of natural rubber latex and are not suitable for people with latex allergies, unlike Real Feel.
A variation in the Thin Feel category is Durex Thin Feel Extra Lubricated. These condoms have the same characteristics as Thin Feel but are coated with a generous amount of lubricant. Most people prefer the extra lubricated version for anal sex or to combat the symptoms of vaginal dryness.
If you don’t like abundant lube or would rather use your own lubricant, the standard version could be more suitable.
Are Thin Feel and Ultra Thin condoms the same?
Whilst the Thin Feel condoms are indeed ultra thin, they are not the same thing. Thin Feel is a name for a type of Durex condom, whereas ultra thin condom refers to any condom with a thickness under 55 microns. Some of the thinnest ultra thin condoms are much thinner than this – you can find options as thin as 15 microns if you want to use the thinnest possible prophylactic.
What thickness do Thin Feel condoms have?
Durex Thin Feel condoms have a thickness of 0.055mm or 55 microns. They are thinner than a strand of hair and feel very soft on the skin. Durex Thin Feel condoms have a smooth texture that doesn’t irritate and are suitable to use by people with sensitive skin.
Types of Thin Feel condoms
Durex Thin Feel condoms are available in two variants:
Are there any alternatives to Thin Feel condoms?
Yes. Ultra thin condoms are an excellent alternative to Thin Feel condoms. You have plenty of options to choose from, including:
Durex Invisible
With a thickness of only 45 microns, Durex Invisible condoms are the thinnest from the brand. They are suitable for men who need a 52mm condom, whilst the length of 180mm suits most men. Like Thin Feel, Durex Invisible is also available in an extra lubricated version.
EXS Nano Thin
Regular in size, EXS Nano Thin condoms are made of natural rubber latex and have an anatomical design. Their flared head enhances comfort and allows for a wide range of movement. These condoms are 53mm wide and 195mm long. They have a thickness of 0.045mm and a silky smooth texture.
EXS Air Thin
The main difference between the Air Thin and Nano Thin condoms is the size. Air Thin is larger, with a nominal width of 56mm. They have the same length and thickness as Nano Thin. Like the Nano Thin, EXS Air Thin condoms have an anatomical design and comfortable fit. They’re made of natural rubber latex and are vegan certified by the Vegan Society.
Glyde Ultra
Suitable for men who need a regular size condom, Glyde Ultra has a nominal width of 53mm and is 180mm long. These condoms are 0.055mm thick and have a very smooth texture that feels silky on the skin. Glyde condoms are an excellent choice for people with a vegan lifestyle – like EXS, they are vegan certified by the Vegan Society.
Pasante Silk Thin
Pasante is as popular as Durex and EXS, and the brand proposes several thin condom options. One of the most popular is Pasante Silk Thin – 0.04mm thick condoms with a nominal width of 53mm. These condoms are made of natural rubber latex and have a silky smooth surface. They are a perfect choice for all types of sex.
Pasante Feel
Another option of thin condoms from the brand is Pasante Feel. The main difference between them and the Silk Thin is the slightly thicker structure of these condoms, which are 0.055mm thick. Pasante Feel condoms have the same nominal width and length as Pasante Silk Thin.
Pasante Sensiva
Made of polyisoprene, Pasante Sensiva is a type of thin non-latex condom. These condoms suit men who need a larger size condom – with a nominal width of 58mm; they are slightly larger than Durex Thin Feel. Pasante Sensiva condoms are among the thinnest on the market; they’re only 0.028mm thick. Each condom comes packed in an easy-to-open round pot instead of the classic wrapper, so you won’t have to be concerned about damaging the condom while you’re opening it.
Pasante Unique
Even thinner than Sensiva, Pasante Unique condoms are 0.015mm thick and have a nominal width of 60mm. They suit men who need a large size condom and are perfect to use by people with latex allergies. In fact, these condoms are also made of polyisoprene. Like Pasante Sensiva, Pasante Unique is lightly lubricated for increased comfort.
SKYN Elite
SKYN Elite is an exception in the world of polyisoprene condoms. Whilst these condoms are ultra-thin by most standards, they are 0.05mm thick – thicker than most non-latex condoms. These condoms are 53mm wide and suit people with latex allergies. Get them right here at Condoms.uk in packs of 10 condoms.
Mates Ultra Thin
In the 53mm category, you can also find Mates Ultra Thin condoms. Slightly shorter than the EXS, they have a length of 180mm and are 0.050mm thick. These condoms have a straight wall design and are lightly lubricated to reduce friction. They are made of natural rubber latex.
ON Super Thin
Slightly larger than Mates and EXS Nano Thin, ON Super Thin condoms have a nominal width of 54mm and are 185mm long. These condoms come in fun, colourful packaging and have a thickness of only 55 microns. The classic, straight wall design ensures a tight fit, making these condoms perfect for those who like a snugger feel.
Vitalis Super Thin
From the same manufacturer as ON condoms, Vitalis Super Thin are some of the thickest condoms in this category – they are 0.060mm thick. This means they are slightly stronger than other natural rubber latex condoms and more than suitable to use for anal or vigorous sex. These condoms have a nominal width of 53mm and are 180mm long. You can find them right here at Condoms.uk in packs of 12 or 100 condoms.
Skins Ultra Thin
Skins condoms stand out thanks to their youthful, colourful packaging featuring vibrant colours and a fun design. The Ultra Thin condoms from the brand are made of natural rubber latex (SKYN condoms are made of polyisoprene) and have a thickness of 55 microns. These condoms have a nominal width of 55mm and are 190mm long. Despite their transparent colour, these condoms are infused with a light vanilla scent that makes them perfect for all types of sex.
How to enhance pleasure with Thin Feel condoms?
Thin Feel condoms are designed for heightened sensations. The thin sheath allows more warmth to pass through, helping partners feel closer to one another than thicker condoms. However, there are still ways to enhance pleasure. Here are a few ideas:
- Use a few drops of lube inside the condom: Most couples apply extra lube outside the condom to increase slickness and glide. However, placing a drop or two of lubricant inside the condom can turn up the pleasure by transferring more sensation to the penis head. Don’t exaggerate with the lubricant, though. More than a couple of drops could cause the condom to slide off.
- Mix things up with flavoured lube: Thin Feel condoms are odourless, colourless, and tasteless condoms. But this doesn’t mean that you can’t flavour them up. There are plenty of condom-friendly flavoured lubricants to choose from. Durex has a selection of flavoured lubes, or you could choose a water-based lubricant from Pasante or EXS. Popular flavours include mint, chocolate, peach, cherry, and strawberry.
- Add a vibrating cock ring: Thin Feel condoms have a smooth texture, like most ultra thin condoms, as a matter of fact. If your partner needs extra stimulation, but you don’t want to use a thicker, dotted condom, simply pair your Thin Feel condoms with a vibrating cock ring. There are a number of cock rings you could use. Some are designed to stimulate the clitoris; others are intended to stimulate the G-spot. G-spot rings are also suitable to use for prostate stimulation and are an excellent choice for same-sex couples.
Can I use Thin Feel condoms with sex toys?
Thin Feel condoms are compatible to use with most sex toys, but they are coated with a silicone-based lubricant. For this reason, you shouldn’t use them with silicone toys.
If you’re looking for condoms to use with silicone toys, you should opt for clinical, non-lubricated condoms or get condoms lubricated with water-based lubricants. The reason you shouldn’t use Thin Feel condoms with silicone toys is that the two types of silicone can react with one another, and the reaction could irritate your skin.
At the same time, both the condom and the toy could be damaged. If you’re only concerned about keeping your toy clean, you may not care that the condom breaks and your body fluids could come in contact with the toy. However, if you’re sharing the toy with someone else, a broken condom could leave you both at risk of contracting or transmitting STDs.
